What we do
TerraGlen operates six residential centres located in counties Louth, Cavan, Westmeath and Dublin. All our centres are registered with Tusla, the Child and Family Agency, and subject to regular inspection.
Our houses can accommodate two to four young people from the age of 13 to 18 years old. The mix of young people in each home is carefully assessed to ensure the safety and well-being of all young people in our care.
We accept young people who are referred to us by Tusla’s Central Referral Service, based on an assessment of each young person’s needs and our ability to provide appropriate services.
Needs and support
Young people in our care present with a range of complex needs that we strive to meet by providing a secure and stable living environment, a pro-social model of care, and support and nurturing to enable each young person to reach their fullest potential.
Each residential centre is staffed with a qualified and trained team of social care professionals who work with the young people to address their needs and provide opportunities for achieving positive outcomes from their placement.
We work in partnership with all key stakeholders in the young person’s life, family, social workers, teachers and therapists. We respect every young person’s right to be listened to and to be actively involved in decisions that affect their lives and futures.
We support the young people in our care as they face up to their challenges and provide opportunities for them to achieve their dreams and ambitions.
